Position Status: Full-Time

Position Summary:
Herty Advanced Materials Development Center, Savannah GA. The Millwright constructs, installs, moves, operates, assembles, dissembles, reassembles, repairs, and maintains heavy equipment and machinery according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in the Pilot Plant, Laboratory, and Maintenance Shop of the Herty Center. Duties may also include pipe fitting and welding, as well as duties of a general laborer, skilled laborer carpenter, and possibly electrician. This position is located in Savannah, Georgia.

Georgia Southern University is a Tobacco Free Campus.

Minimum Education Required:
Associates Degree or two years of post-secondary education

One or more years of related work experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of welding; thorough knowledge of the load bearing capabilities of the equipment used, as well as an understanding of blueprints and technical instructions; effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of pre-employment urinalysis and background investigation prior to employment.
