Basic Function

American Culture and Language Institute (ACLI) at Northern Virginia Community College invites applications from teachers interested in joining ACLI faculty at our five campuses for the fall 2015 semester and beyond. Please indicate your preferred campus (Alexandria, Annandale, Loudoun, Manassas, and Woodbridge) in the subject line of your application.

Duties and Responsibilities

The ACLI program consists of part-time courses for community students and intensive academic preparation program for international students. Courses focus on core skills such as reading, writing, speaking, listening, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar as well as content of special interest to students such as Business Communications, American Culture, Current Events, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

You are our ideal candidate if you are creative, energetic and organized, and if you hold a Master’s degree in TESOL, linguistics or a related field and have experience teaching at a college level in the U.S., overseas or both. Students with teaching experience currently undertaking a Master’s program in these fields are also welcome to apply. You are welcome to apply even if your profile doesn’t fit these exact criteria and we will evaluate whether your overall qualifications might be a good fit for our program.

Starting base pay for these part-time positions is $36 an hour. Higher pay is available commensurate with experience. Please include your resume, a communicative language teaching lesson plan, and letter of inquiry to be considered for the fall 2015 semester and beyond. No phone inquiries please.
