Position Description: The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine, is seeking a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor rank. We have nationally recognized programs in research and education in hospital medicine that build on collaborations throughout the University and are active in clinical operations and quality improvement in the Medical Center. We especially welcome applicants with advanced training in research methodology and a record of conducting research relevant to hospital medicine. Clinical care responsibilities will be commensurate with funding support.

Prior to the start of employment, an individual must possess the following qualifications: (1) have an MD or equivalent (2) be board certified or eligible in Internal Medicine (3) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Illinois and (4) have cared for hospitalized general medical patients with multiple and complex co-morbidities. The successful candidate will focus on their research, apply for external funding support, provide direct patient care including managing hospitalized patients with complex sub-specialty needs, and teach and supervise our residents and medical students.
