Accredited physics residency and certificate programs are also active. Strong research collaborations exist with Radiology physics faculty in image analysis, image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), CT technique development for IGRT, functional and anatomic imaging (clinical and preclinical). The Department has a strong interest in research in image guidance, treatment technique development, dosimetry and treatment planning, quality assurance, image-based treatment assessment and other physics-related areas. Application of functional and molecular imaging in radiation oncology is also of particular interest. The Department has an extensive cancer biology research program, and collaboration between physics and biology researchers is encouraged.
