Position Description: The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Neurosurgery, in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for a Research Assistant Professor, whose primary activity will be academic research in association with a faculty member or team. The successful applicant will best contribute to a research project on imaging and plasma biomarkers related to biologic activity of cerebral cavernous angiomas, and their translational potential in hemorrhagic angiopathy and the aging brain. The appointee will join the Neurovascular Surgery Research Laboratory, work on biomarker aspects of currently funded projects, help with pending grant applications involving biomarker projects, and will be eligible to apply for independent funding. We welcome the following expertise: MRI quantitative data postprocessing, plasma biomarker assays (ELIA, Multiplex), human subject research, database management, and computational and statistical approaches to biomarker research, publication, scientific presentations, grant writing, and training and supervision of technicians and/or students
