    St. Edward's University invites applications for two full-time, nine-month, tenure-track, open-rank faculty positions (commensurate with qualifications and experience) to begin in August 2019.


    Responsibilities
    Successful candidates will be expected to teach both introductory and upper division undergraduate courses in mathematics, to both majors and non-majors. Candidates are expected to establish an active research program involving undergraduates and to participate in department, School, and University service activities. The standard teaching load is ~21 credit hours per year (3-4 courses per semester) with an appropriate level of scholarly activity that includes mentoring undergraduate research students.

    Qualifications

    • A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or Applied Mathematics is required.
    • Proven or demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching (both majors and non-majors) and engaging in research with undergraduates is required.
    • Candidates with scholarly activity in an area that broadens that of the current faculty (especially statistics, data science, or applied mathematics), that leverages existing community and University resources, and that is conducive to undergraduate research are particularly encouraged to apply.
    • Experience or interest in pedagogical innovation, online/hybrid instructional resource development, and implementing active and/or inquiry-based learning is desired.
    • Faculty from advanced ranks should indicate their interest and experience with leadership and program development.
