Department Overview
**This position is open only to internal candidates in the Facilities Department.**

The Auxiliary Planning group within the Facilities Planning, Design & Construction Department (FPDC) at the University of North Texas serves the Housing and Dining departments for project management services. Auxiliary Planning is seeking to hire a Facilities Auxiliary Planning Construction Coordinator to join our team.

FPDC consists of six sub-groups: Campus Planning, Auxiliary Planning, Engineering, Estimating, Construction Inspection, and Facilities Information Services. For additional information on FPDC you may visit our website at: https://facilities.unt.edu/about/planning-design-construction.

The primary purpose of FPDC is to oversee planning, design, renovation and construction efforts to physical facilities on the UNT Denton campus and to maintain all building records for the campus. FPDC is responsible for serving the campus as a resource for estimating, site design, architectural, landscape and interior design, construction management, furniture procurement, campus mapping, space analysis, & long-range planning services and ensuring compliance with all applicable State & Federal statutes, laws and codes related to State buildings, procurement and construction. FPDC also maintains building records for all campus facilities including utility & infrastructure maps, surveys, site plans, floor plans, construction documents, & other building records. We also act in an advisory capacity for System managed projects.

Job Description
The Facilities Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Facilities Auxiliary Planning Construction Coordinator to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Comprehensive knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in installing, repairing and maintaining building with a focus on HVAC equipment.
* Coordinating maintenance and repair projects
* Serve as Project Manager and main point of contact for building occupants on renovation projects. Will lead and coordinate all activities, design, procurement, installation, and construction work. Will inspect the work of ongoing projects to ensure quality, completeness, and adherence to the Campus Design Guidelines.
* Scheduling of outside contractors, obtaining competitive quotes, and monitoring work performed.
* Coordinating inspections of HVAC facilities technician tasks and contracted work.
* Updating and maintaining internal progress reports.
* Provide technical assistance to Facilities staff.
* Ability to prepare estimates and order materials and equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
* Knowledge of energy management systems.
* Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions.
* Coordinate work with other shops and personnel.
* Manage the equipment and materials inventory.
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field and four years of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:

* Physical ability to access work areas which may be in confined spaces or elevated heights
* Proficiency in specific software may be required

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in project management, facilities operations, planning or maintenance with a focus on HVAC systems.
* Good problem solving skills.
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
