Applications and Web Developer

Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Student Affairs IT and as a member of the Office of Information Technology, the Applications and Web Developer will primarily service Wellness, Health and Counseling Services along with other units within Student Affairs. The Applications and Web Developer assists with the development, support, maintenance, security and management of the full project life cycle of complex web-based, database driven applications with campus-wide scope. Many projects include the analysis of complex business processes and must be implemented as sophisticated workflow applications. Tasks include documenting and participating in project design and implementation from initial stages to production release. Primary focus will be on developing and maintaining information systems and web sites for UCI Student Affairs.

Incumbent must be able to communicate clearly with users, analyze and document user requirements, collect security requirements, document workflow, data flow diagrams and business rules. Must code, test debug and maintain multi-user administrative and other database applications in PHP. Be able to design relational database schema and write queries in SQL. Assist end users to use applications developed.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
Total Hours: 8-5, M-F

Contract Position. This is a one year contract appointment position with the possibility of additional year contract appointment extensions. Per the University of California (UC) recruitment policy, because this position has undergone competitive recruitment, this position can be converted to career status any time after hire, as conversion meets criteria set by UC recruitment policy and the needs of the Office of Information Technology department.
