Department Overview
The Classroom and Events Technology Support (CETS) team is the central place for audio visual equipment or services. The specialists are trained to assist in classrooms as well as telepresence, live production, and special event needs. In addition, the team advises and works with institutional departments on technology projects in an effort to support the growth and remain current with classroom technology.

Position Details
The Classroom and Events Technology Support Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Education Tech Support Specialist. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:

* Oversee the daily performance of classroom AV equipment.
* Answer customer inquiries regarding classroom technology or automation system operation to resolve problems.
* Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
* Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
* Determine the best solution for each inquiry, issue or request by applying and / or adapting existing knowledge and best practices.
* Enter trouble tickets into Samanage system for metrics.
* Utilize existing support tools, techniques and methodology.
* Participate in the capture of new knowledge and solutions.
* Provide daily support to classes or meetings as assigned by the Manager.
* Provide technical support for on and off campus events.
* Monitor and reply to Classroom and Event Technology Support email and input requests into UNTHSC scheduling software.
* Troubleshoot equipment.
* Keep current inventory of department equipment.
* Keep current inventory of office supplies and classroom supplies.
* Answer office phones in order to provide assistance to customers.
* Assist walk-in customers.
* Assist other team members on projects.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional skills and abilities:

* Some knowledge of Crestron systems, Microsoft software, Apple software, computer hardware, basic audio-visual knowledge of televisions, DVD players, and sound systems.
* Excellent communications skills and collaborative team approach to accomplishing goals.
* Knowledge of current technology.
* Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
* Knowledge of video and audio capture, encoding and uploading.
