The Associate Director will serve as a primary point of contact for all employer inquiries and requests that come into the Department, will be well-versed at addressing employer questions, and will work strategically to ensure that employers are maximizing their experiences across the Northeastern landscape. He/she will develop & implement strategic initiatives involving a broad array of university constituents designed to enhance employer partnerships in recruiting and non-recruiting functions and enhance overall internal collaborations with university colleagues. The Associate Director – through direct involvement and management of two direct reports (Recruiting Coordinators) – will also oversee the management and delivery of the Department’s On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) program and will develop & implement process improvements for that program, as needed, in all related OCR function-areas. At various points during the year, candidate may play a more involved role in the day-to-day operational functions of On-Campus recruiting, but still must demonstrate, within his/her first year, that efforts are being made to increase internal collaborations for broader employer partnerships


Provide the minimum education, experience, and skills required to perform the job successfully.
•Master’s Degree in career development, higher education, business, or other applicable graduate degree preferred.
•Three+ years of experience in job development, employer relations, recruiting, career counseling, or other applicable environments required.
•Demonstrated management experience & capabilities.
•Strong networking and relationship development skills & experience.
•Ability to multitask and operate under tight deadlines within a fast-moving environment.
•Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and organization skills.
•An appreciation for diverse cultures and backgrounds a must.
•Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
•Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills.
•Deep technical experience with database usage and management preferred

Additional Information

The Associate Director will be responsible for Relationship Management & Development and On-Campus Recruiting. The Associate Director will serve as primary point of contact for employer inquiries and Department requests, ensure that employers are maximizing their experiences at Northeastern, develop strategic initiatives designed to enhance employer partnerships, enhance internal collaborations, and aid in the development of additional employer engagement platforms. The Associate Director must demonstrate that—within the first year—efforts are being made to increase internal collaborations for broader employer partnerships. This position manages two direct reports (Recruiting Coordinators)and supervises the Northeastern jobs portal (Nucareers) to ensure job posting accuracy. The Associate Director also oversees the management and delivery of the Department’s On-Campus Recruiting (OCR) program, develops & implements process improvements for that program, provides reliable OCR room reservation information for students & employers, arranges events promoting student-employer connectivity, markets upcoming employer campus availability & job opportunities, and accurately conveys details about recruiting events and registration procedures to the NU community. The Associate Director will ensure that interview spaces are prepared, inventory needs are met, and that job postings and the organizational approval process in NUCareers are done consistently.
