The Department of Mathematics at Northeastern University invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in Mathematics to start as early as Fall of 2019. Appointments will be based on exceptional research contributions in Mathematics combined with a strong commitment and demonstrated success in teaching. The Department seeks to build excellence in the core, interrelated areas of Algebraic Geometry, Representation Theory, and Topology. Outstanding candidates in these or synergetic areas are encouraged to apply and will be seriously considered. The Department currently has a strong research program in Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory supported by an NSF RTG grant. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students and conducting an independent research program.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a related field by the start date, strong record of research, and demonstrated evidence of excellent teaching ability. Qualified candidates should be committed to fostering diverse and inclusive environments as well as to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.
