Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Civil Engineering

Department of Civil and Construction Engineering

 

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a nine-month, tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Civil Engineering faculty position in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering, which begins August 2019.

Area of specialization: Transportation Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: intelligent transportation systems, big data analytics, connected and autonomous vehicles, highway design and traffic operations, and sustainable transportation systems.

Teaching expectations: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and labs in both transportation and general Civil disciplines. Advise undergraduate and graduate students in the civil and construction engineering programs.

Scholarship/Research expectations: Conduct funded research and disseminate research findings through journal publications and conference presentations. Service expectations: Service to the profession and the university is expected.

A Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering or its foreign equivalent is required.

A minimum of three (3) years non-academic experience in the transportation field is required. Computer-aided design (CAD) and/or Surveying experience are a plus. Professional registration in the US is preferred. Professional registration is required before applying for promotion and tenure.
