Description:

  • This position is responsible for the receipt and distribution of packages, freight received, surplus receipt and disposal, and record keeping associated with the functions of the University Business.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution services by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Receive, identify, sort, and deliver packages according to established procedures (currently using SCL Tracking system)
  • Train, provide work direction, and coordinate the schedules and activities of assigned personnel. Assist in training workers in computer operations and deliveries of packages using established procedures (currently using Motorola M55 scanner).
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles to arrange for deliveries. (utility and golf carts, forklift)
  • Maintain and repair warehouse equipment as needed.
  • Communicate with various department's personnel, buyers, vendors, and others to provide and receive information, resolve questions, issues, and coordinate activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma.
  • Additional education and experience may be used as a substitution.
  • Two years of related experience in receiving, storing, and issuing a variety of materials, supplies, and equipment or warehousing experience.
  • Valid driver's license. Forklift certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range:
  • $12.62
