The Department of Human and Organizational Learning (HOL) employs cross-disciplinary faculty with doctorate degrees in business, management, and adult education. We offer Graduate Certificates, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees in a variety of formats (including weekend and weekday) at the Virginia Science and Technology campus in Ashburn (VA), and our Main Campus in Washington, DC. Our Master’s program is the oldest in the county and is globally recognized for its quality and rigor. It has recently been retitled as the Organizational Leadership and Learning (OLL) Program, and attracts early, mid, and senior level professionals globally, in an online and on campus (at the Foggy Bottom campus) formats. Master’s program also provides leadership development of United States Coast Guards’ officers.

In order to continue with the ongoing growth of our Master’s Program, we are seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor for primary appointment within the Department of Human and Organizational Learning at our historic Foggy Bottom Campus (main campus) in Washington DC. This non-tenure accruing, fiscal year contract position is available beginning as early as Jan 1, 2019, and is initially available for 12 months. It may be renewable to an additional 12-months based upon individual performance, Dept. and School needs.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to teach a total of six graduate level courses at the Master’s level, (both online and in-class) in the Organizational Leadership and Learning (OLL) Program (emphasis on leadership, learning and change), collaborate with OLL Program Director with the ongoing design and evaluation of the Master’s program, maintain an active research agenda, and advise Master’s students. The successful candidate will be an active contributor to the Organizational Leadership and Learning Program, Department of Human and Organizational Learning and the University, including, for example, serving on program, department, school, and university administrative committees.

Minimum Qualifications:

All applicants must have:
1)An earned doctorate in Human and Organizational Learning or a related field such as industrial/organizational psychology, management, or organization science;
2)Graduate level course design experience;
3)An emerging theoretically-based and practically relevant research record in leadership, organizational studies, or a related field; and
4)Demonstrated graduate level teaching experience.
