Job Details
The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, an independent non-profit clinical practice group affiliated with The George Washington University, is seeking a clinical psychologist for a full-time, tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:Responsibilities include serving as Clinical Director of the GW Autism & Neurodevelopmental Disorders Institute (ANDI), led by Dr. Kevin Pelphrey, and helping build a world-class clinical, research, and educational program with a research focus on translational developmental social neuroscience. In collaboration with faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, the ANDI clinical director will develop and lead diagnostic and treatment programs for core social communication deficits in ASD that address the needs of children, adolescents, and adults. The clinical director will also teach medical, graduate, nursing and/or undergraduate students about clinical research and implementation science methods, psychological tests and evaluations, and behavioral intervention techniques. The Institute maintains clinical and research facilities in Ashburn, Virginia and Washington, DC and will provide a start-up package for the clinical director.
Minimum Qualifications:The candidate must hold a PhD by the date of appointment in Clinical Psychology with experience in intervention research utilizing fMRI biomarkers and ASD and a track-record of obtaining external funding and philanthropic support for research.
