I. JOB OVERVIEW

Job Description Summary:

The Biostatistics Center (BSC) of the Milken Institute School of Public Health is an off-campus research facility of The George Washington University located in Rockville, Maryland. The BSC serves as the coordinating center for large scale multi-center clinical trials and epidemiological studies funded by federal agencies including the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Enterprise Systems Developer responsible for developing, troubleshooting, designing modifications and upgrading enterprise systems software, using Java, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and JSON. Typical duties include coding, testing, documenting and implementing solutions to enterprise systems software, which includes developing patches and upgrades. Makes practical and effective use of previous experience in developing web applications and working with relational database and SQL knowledge in daily activities. The position will assist with troubleshooting of known issues, and assist in the daily support of the university enterprise systems applications. Participates in user review, verification and testing sessions, as needed.

Essential duties:

• Work on projects including web-based applications, website enhancements, including documenting, designing, developing, testing, monitoring, and maintaining the BSC web applications.
• Update existing web applications to address BSC users’ requirements, meet the security standards, and enhance the presentation and discovery of information tailored to reach the intended audiences.
• Develop comprehensive testing procedures
• Provide code maintenance, and perform bug fixes
• Work with the end users to collect their business requirements for the Web applications
• Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Bootstrap, J2EE servlets, JSP, Struts and RESTful services.
