Job Description

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health invites applications for an Epidemiologist with expertise in reproductive health and disease at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor on the tenure or non-tenure tracks.

The appointee will be supportive of Generalists, Subspecialists and Residents in the Department developing dynamic clinical and translational research programs. The appointee will also work with five PhD and MD faculty in the Reproductive and Perinatal Research Division exploring developmental origins of health and disease including diet, disease and environmental exposures; placental development; novel cancer therapeutics; and other human health research.

This epidemiologist will perform systematic, unbiased approaches to data collection, analyses and interpretation. Basic epidemiologic methods involving careful observation and use of valid comparison groups to assess whether the incidence or distribution of a disease, differs from what might be expected. Expertise with methods from other scientific fields, including biostatistics and informatics, with biologic, economic, social, and behavioral sciences is a plus.

The appointee is expected to develop his/her own independent, extramurally funded research program and be a contributing member of the department in delivering excellent research, teaching, community service and integrating the department’s activities with those of the School of Medicine.


Successful candidate should have academic qualifications for the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor (tenure track or non-tenure track).
