Definition

DEFINITION:Under general supervision, assist faculty and staff in the operation of complex digital electronic imaging and xerographic equipment in reproducing materials; to perform routine maintenance on the equipment; to provide support to other reprographics functions as needed; and to perform related clerical work as required.EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:a) Support faculty and staff with customer care needsb) Stock supplies, maintain, and oversee the operation self-serve area c) Assist in the operation of a variety of complex xerographic equipment, such as Xerox WorkCentre 5775 and Canon 6275, and other complex reproduction equipment as needed.d) Operate computers PC and MAC platform, printers, scanners, and other modern office equipment.e) Receive and respond to work orders that come in over the counter or via the network infrastructure.f) Assist in servicing machines, clear jams and perform minor repairs as needed.g) Respond to requests for information and assistance, providing authoritative information requiring a thorough knowledge of reprographics functions and procedures.h) Assist in the preparation of a variety of materials for reproduction such as syllabi, classroom materials, tests, overhead transparency masters, and final copy using modern automated office equipment.i) Set up and maintain various records, including test bank file, and work requests; assist with tracking of reprographics allocation account and billing.j) Contact service representatives regarding necessary repairs and service.k) Notify those requesting printing services of potential delays due to equipment or other problems when deadlines may not be met.l) May operate ancillary equipment such as collating, wrapping, stitching or tying machines.m) Perform various clerical tasks as needed to support reprographics department functions.n) Perform related work as required. Qualifications and Physical Demands

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:1. Operation of complex computerized high volume copiers with collating, duplicating, paper punching and stapling features.2. Types and varieties of paper and other printing stock and applicable requirements and limitations for different types of copiers.3. Modern office equipment and procedures, including computers for word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and simple presentation and/or graphics tools.4. Basic math, including decimals, fractions, and percentages.Ability to:5. Operate a variety of complex xerographic, digital copier, and other reprographics equipment6. Explain policies, procedures, regulations and services, both orally and in writing.7. Maintain accurate records and generate reports.8. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.9. Perform record keeping and other clerical tasks in a modern office environment.10. Learn and apply provisions of law relating to duplication of copyrighted materials.11. Plan and organize own and other's work to meet deadlines and handle fluctuating workloads.12. Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.Education and Experience:13. Customer service experience14. Experience using, unjamming, and maintaining copiers15. Or, any combination of experience and education or formal training that would provide the required qualifications. Conditions of Employment

Employment is on a part-time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification as governed under Education Code requirements, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Assignments are short-term, temporary, and do not offer fringe benefits or pay for holidays or time not worked, and are limited to 28 hours per week or 160 days per fiscal year. The hours of work and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as-needed basis. Departments or Divisions will refer to the POOL of applications on file to fill temporary assignments as the need arises.
