Perform general construction duties to include painting, plumbing, electrical, and other construction and maintenance tasks as needed to complete building modifications. Demonstrate compliance with regard to safety practices and requirements as outlined by the University, School of Medicine, and OSHA policies, procedures, and regulations.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
High school diploma and 6 years directly related trade experience. Must have a valid South Carolina drivers license.Preferred Qualifications
Experience as an Electrician's helper.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience hanging and finishing sheetrock, painting and all phases of wall finishing. Capable of planning, organizing and prioritizing work. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans and read specifications. Ability to work independently and perform detailed work. Good reasoning skills needed. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment.
