Job Duties:10Helps with laboratory maintenance and regulatory compliance, eg ordering, cleanup of lab areas, maintenance of equipment, helping to prepare IACUC protocols and amendments when appropriate.Essential10Helps with training junior technicians or graduate students in experimental techniques required for experiments.Essential20Collaborates in preparing manuscripts and grants based on the experimental data generated, Duties include keeping current with the literature, preparing figures and writing manuscripts and sections of grants.Essential30Collaborates in collecting and analyzing data generated from the experiments and Duties include keeping accurate records on a daily basis, identifying and using appropriate software for analysis of data, collaborating with Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Research Shared Resources to insure quality of the results, interpreting results and planning new experiments.Essential30Collaborates with the PI and other lab members involved to design and executes experiments using state-of-the-art mouse genetic models and cells prepared form these models to study the role of the STAT3 transcription factor in tumor fibroblasts during pancreatic cancer progression and metastasis, and to study the function of PTEN in tumor fibroblasts during breast cancer progression. These duties involved included genotyping of genetically-engineered mice and animal husbandry, in vivo experiments, including treatment studies, monitoring for development of disease, necropsies of experimental mice and in vitro studies, including preparing cells from the models, cell culture, molecular and functional genomic evaluation of gene expression and transcription factor binding to target genes, including RNAseq and ChIPseq.Essential

Job summary: Collaborates with the PI and other lab members involved to design and executes experiments using state-of-the-art mouse genetic models and cells prepared form these models to study the role of the STAT3 transcription factor in tumor fibroblasts during pancreatic cancer progression and metastasis, and to study the function of PTEN in tumor fibroblasts during breast cancer progression.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A PhD, MD or equivalent with two years post-doctorate experience.
