Job Duties:15Study Close-out: Works closely with Office of Grants and Contracts accounting in preparing financial reports for Study close-outs, following all MUSC procedures.Essential20Research Grant Portfolio Oversight: Works closely with director of TRU unit and TRU nurse manger in coordinating monthly meetings, and overseeing Financial Portfolio for the TRU. Works closely with the CRESCENT research group, coordinating monthly PI meetings, and overseeing the Financial Portfolio for the CRESCENT research group, which includes grants listed under the StrokeNet.Essential30Post-award grant administration: Works closely with study coordinator to track and monitor ongoing study visits and expenditures. Oversees and processes procurement activities associated with trials, monitors and tracks earned income and submits invoices in a timely manner, monitors effort for all personnel assigned to Corporate Clinical Trials, submits PEARS along with ASWs for all ongoing studies and makes adjustments as needed. Works with UMS and other MUSC financial systems to reconcile trial accounts on a monthly basis, preparing PI financial expenditure and projection reports to review with PI during quarterly meetings. Responsible for application and management of TRU fees associated with Clinical Trials in Neurology.Essential30Pre-award industry grants activities: Serves as financial liaison to corporate industry sponsors, and facilitates verbal and written communication to research entities as needed. Works with MUSC IT systems in Budget preparation and development, identifies and obtains study and patient care costs through SPARC, conducts financial analysis to determine feasibility of Corporate Clinical Trials and negotiates with sponsors on budget line items, working closely with PIs and Research Nurse Manager. Works closely with ORSP and routes and submits all required documentation for Institutional approval.Essential5Prepares Ad Hoc financial reports for clinical trials and may assist with NIH grant submissions and supports the TRU team, Dept. leadership, and research faculty as needed.Essential

Job summary: The Grants Administrator is a member of the Finance department of the MUSC Department of Neurology, and reports directly to the Department Administrator. As a team member of the finance department it is expected that this individual will have a positive and professional attitude.

The position is responsible for administering and maintaining Corporate Research Grants and Clinical Trial Contracts with the Neurology department.
