Job Duties:10Assist in the tracking of Development Director's expense budget. Responsible for manipulating database to generate mailings and other special projects for the development operation. Provide basic graphic design support for the production of mailingsEssential10Coordinate logistical and administrative tasks for the Department of Medicine Development Program. Plan, coordinate and implement arrangements for meetings including design and mailing of meeting notices and invitations, securing meeting space, on-campus parking arrangements, AV and communication needs, meals/catering and processing of invoices for payment of services.Essential10Deal discretely with large amounts of sensitive, confidential information concerning prospects and donors. Maintain extensive office filing system and procedures for control of correspondence, reports, policies, and other documents. Manage and maintain donor/prospect database (Raiser's Edge) to track meetings and report gifts and pledges in a timely manner. Has oversight for the integrity of the data in Raiser's Edge.Essential10In coordination with the MUSC Alumni Office, update, manipulate and manage former Housestaff records in an effort to target former residents and fellows for annual and major gifts.Essential10Independently seeks out and coordinates extensive travel appointments for the Development Director (an average of 5 weekly visits with donors and prospects) in coordination with new fund campaigns as well as ongoing stewardship and prospect identification programs.Essential10Serve as liaison between the Department of Medicine Director of Development and private sector representatives, as well as University administration including the President's Office, Development Office, Boards, faculty and the MUSC Foundation. Works closely with the central MUSC Development Office on projects which impact and/or benefit the Department of MedicineEssential15In coordination with the MUSC Annual Giving Office, administratively manage the Department of Medicine's Annual Giving program to ensure that new donors are identified, cultivated and participating in the Department's many philanthropic programs. Also responsible for the recognition and ongoing stewardship programs to ensure that donors are engaged and informed of the Department's activities. Programs used to promote annual giving include the YES campaign, direct mail/phonathon campaigns, special events and electronic venues such as email solicitations.Essential20Provide administrative support for the Department of Medicine Director of Development. Manage the Director's calendar; coordinate travel agendas as needed with others, such as faculty, Division Directors, and members of the University Administration. Generate original correspondence for signature of the Director and/or Division Directors and Chairman as appropriate. Prepare and submit paperwork for reimbursement of expenses in a timely and accurate manner.Essential5Assist the administrative, financial and educational offices on an as-needed basis.Essential

Job summary: The Alumni/Development Coordinator for the MUSC Department of Medicine reports to the Director of Development and is responsible for managing and coordinating administrative operations for the alumni and development programs for the Department of Medicine. Position requires exceptional writing and oral communication skills as well as the ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 5: $32,838.00 - $46,799.00 - $60,760.00 (min - mid - max)

FLSA: Hourly

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree and one year related experience in an area such as alumni/development activities.
