Description:

The Stan Richards School of Advertising & Public Relations seeks applicants for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice to teach in the world-renowned Texas Creative sequence beginning Fall 2019. Full-time Assistant Professors of Practice teach three courses each Spring and Fall semesters and are expected to contribute to the mission of one of the best advertising programs in the world - to continually seek ways to train and empower students, staff and faculty of all ethnicities, races, genders and identities to work collaboratively to produce world-changing ads, PR campaigns and research. We are foremost interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching and service.

This position is ideal for Creative Directors with an art direction/visual design background who have excelled in the creative industry, have a digital-first mindset, and are looking for a new challenge in one of the nation’s top cities. It offers the applicant a chance to shift focus back to creativity and conceptual problem solving while providing a much more attractive work/life balance than is typically found in industry careers. Candidates must shine at effectively mentoring young, talented, hungry creatives and possess the ability to foster strategic, conceptual, integrated campaigns in a classroom environment.


Qualifications:

While previous teaching experience at the university level and a master’s degree or equivalent is preferred, a bachelor’s degree is required.
