This position is responsible for administrative policy-making decisions regarding the data management requirements to support the fundraising and alumni activities of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Foundation, the TAMU-CC Alumni Association, and the University as a whole.

The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Institutional Advancement Division (IA) is a comprehensive Development and Alumni Relations enterprise with a staff complement of approximately 25 FTE. Functional units within IA include development/fundraising, alumni relations, stewardship and donor relations, advancement communications, special events, gift processing, research, prospect management, and other infrastructure services. IA's mission is to build strong, lifelong relationships with TAMU-CC's constituents, match donor's interests with the University's needs and priorities, and secure the financial resources necessary for TAMU-CC to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship. The IA Division is strongly committed to serving the academic agenda of the University, creating a culture of philanthropy in the extended TAMU-CC community, and pursuing excellence and best practices in its work. In close coordination with the University President, Provost, Dean's and other senior leaders, IA is currently planning for the next major fundraising campaign at TAMU-CC.


  • Provide necessary leadership, direction, and coordination to strengthen and expand the services provided by Advancement Services for the development, advancement-related communications, and alumni relations programs for the University.
  • Strategically align available resources that best leverage the talent and tools necessary to reach campaign goals aligned with TAMU-CC's academic priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President in ensuring that all operational and business models are best in practice and align with the overall mission of the University.
  • Build, manage, and steward strong relationships with colleagues throughout the IA Division and key partners in Finance, Facilities Services, IT and Human Resources.
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships and maintain regular communications with colleagues across the University and work closely with the Vice President as a strategic partner in the leadership of the IA Division. Engage advancement leadership, including members of the Senior Management Team, and Alumni Relations.
  • Advise the Vice President regarding organizational development, performance management systems, information technology applications, staffing and related training needs of the Division, and will be a central architect of management information tools that emphasize transparency of individual and team performance.
  • Work in concert with the IA management team in Campaign Planning and Readiness. Work with Finance and the IA business manager to ensure the allocation and performance of the ED's operating budget.
  • Collaborate and align with Human Resources in ensuring that all recruitment and professional development goals of the department are met. Along with strong analytical, planning and communication skills, the Executive Director will have proven management experience, providing the Advancement Services team with leadership, motivation, and support needed to continually surpass ambitious goals.
  • Manage a team of four professionals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Ten (10) years of appropriate and relevant experience in higher education/non-profit environment.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Extensive knowledge of Blackbaud's Raisers Edge software.
  • Experience in Campaign Planning.
  • Proven success in building and developing a high functioning team in a higher education/non-profit environment.
  • Ability to act as a strategic thought partner to IA leadership and team.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven success in the implementation and the streamlining of processes to positively affect operational outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and alliances with internal and external constituencies, key service vendors and select external leaders.
  • Excellent knowledge of advancement operations in a comprehensive IA program.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bring an entrepreneurial, comprehensive, and metrics or outcomes driven approach to advancement services.
