Assitant Director of Compliance

Job description

Under the supervision of the Associate AD/Academics & Compliance, the Assistant Director of Compliance works to implement and monitor the regulations of Miami University, the NCAA, the Mid-American Conference, and the National Collegiate Hockey Conference for 19 sports and over 550 student-athletes.

This position specifically supports the mission of the University and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics by assisting in institutional compliance with NCAA and Conference rules and regulations. 

Duties/Physical Demands: The position primarily focuses on monitoring efforts related to Bylaw 11, Bylaw 13, and Bylaw 17.

Additional tasks will include, but are not limited to:

Create, distribute, and present rules education materials Research and communicate interpretations (all bylaws) Research, draft, and submit NCAA and Mid-American Conference waivers Manage compliance social media accounts Beyond these areas of focus, the position has many opportunities to expand knowledge and grow into a greater role within the compliance department.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- Experience using JumpForward or similar compliance-oriented application (i.e., ACS, Front Rush)

- Familiarity with social media applications

- Experience using NCAA applications (i.e., LSDBi, RSRO)

- Ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and direct manner
