General Summary of Position:

The Assistant Director of Advancement Services for Database Management & Reporting is responsible for the day to day upkeep and management of Advancement databases including the assurance of database policies and procedures, and data integrity. This position includes data input and output, technology management, and end-user training and support with the use of Advancement databases. The position reports to the Executive Director of Advancement Services.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree and one to three years’ related experience in a relevant professional business, database maintenance, database security, and or database design, preferably on a University's fundraising database, or on a similar fundraising database system
  • Strong technology skills are a must including experience working with databases and reporting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel required

Additional Considerations:

  • Familiarity of relational databases and basic knowledge of report writing/data extraction tools (Oracle, SQL programming, or similar tools)
  • Ability to work well with others and to represent Advancement and the University in a highly capable and professional manner to the public, to faculty and staff members, and to donor and other constituencies
  • Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet
  • Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data
