Diagnostic pathologist for a veterinary diagnostic laboratory.

-Perform necropsies on animal carcasses and report appropriate findings.
-Interpret histopathology slides of necropsy submissions and report findings.
-Conduct appropriate research and publish findings.
-Provide consultations with veterinarians and livestock farmers.
-Provide instruction, as required, for the Animal Health Technology curriculum.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
-Ability to work with a wide variety of people.
-Comply with Quality Management System.
-Perform special projects as determined by Head of Pathology.

Minimum Education Requirements

-DVM or equivalent and MS or 2 years residency training in anatomic pathology with an emphasis on food animal and companion animal diagnostics.
-Graduate of an AVMA accredited College of Veterinary Medicine.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements

-Alertness, memory for verbal and written directions and details, analytical ability, ability to logically plan and organize analytical processes.
-Pleasant, proactive personality, ability to handle demanding situations, ability to work with others in a collegial team atmosphere.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications

-PhD
-Diplomate ACVP
-Five (5) years’ experience in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory
