Responsibilities

Provides administrative coordination for undergraduate and graduate programs, serving as a point of contact to current students, prospective students, and faculty in the College of Applied Studies. Coordinates admission, mapping and graduate processes for the College of Applied Studies. Oversees graduation checks; assists faculty with curriculum requests; manages student concerns and delegates issues to appropriate staff or office when needed.

Works closely with administrators and faculty to ensure that programs run smoothly, including monitoring deadlines for activities in the College. Work with FSU PC administration to assist with marketing and recruiting plans for the various majors. Assists in collecting and reporting student statistics and evaluation for the programs. Travels to Tallahassee campus for informational and coordinating purposes. Assists students with inquiries regarding registration and records, changes related to major, overrides, withdrawals, special permissions, add/drop forms, and informs students of policies and procedures.

Evaluate admissions files while working closely with Office of Admissions to resolve any issues that may arise. Admits qualified students to the College of Applied Studies programs. Assists with advising, as necessary, for all majors within the College of Applied Studies. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalency and six years of experience.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education or experience equal to six years.)

Ability to utilize problem solving skills.

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions, including Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Helpful

Ability to to interpret academic program requirements and provide advice.

Knowledge of academic resources available to students.

Knowledge of principles and practices of academic program planning, development, and evaluation.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Anticipated Salary Range

Salary commensurate with education and experience. Department expects to hire in the high 30,000, low 40,000 range.

Pay Plan

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
