Position Summary:
Office of Admissions. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Transfer Admissions, the Transfer Admissions Specialist recruits special populations of students, specifically post-baccalaureate, military, adult, transient, and online; assists with the planning of on and off-campus recruitment events; and maintains regular correspondence with campus partners that serve these student populations.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and maintains a strong working relationship with the Military and Veterans Affairs offices to ensure students who are/were service members have a smooth transfer experience.
  • Establishes relationships with Academic Advising, Student Success, and the Registrar's office to better assist non-traditional, adult, and post-baccalaureate students.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with technical and community colleges.
  • Assists with mentoring and training Transfer Admissions Counselors.
  • Serves as Advisor for PTK Alumni/Tau Sigma Transfer Honor Society.
  • Assists with the planning and implementation of all transfer-related recruitment events (on and off campus).
  • Attends off-campus transfer college fairs and community events.

    Two or more years of related work experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written); organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; legally authorized to work in the United States; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Preferred Education:
    Master’s Degree in Higher Education or a related field

    Preferred Experience::
    Two or more years of experience working with transfer students; working knowledge of admissions operational procedures at a Banner institution; experience working at a University Systems of Georgia institution.

    Salary Range: $31,879 - $39,827
