Job Description

Part-time faculty on the SAN ANTONIO campus. The successful candidate will teach lower-division undergraduate courses in Speech Communication, based on academic qualifications. Applicants will be contacted according to departmental needs. Teaching assignments are all in face-to-face format and may include day or night classes.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Communication, from a regionally accredited institution
  • 18 graduate hours in Communication, Speech, or similar field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College or University teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience with teaching lower-division Speech classes preferred.
  • Experience with hands-on teaching techniques preferred.
  • Experience in culturally diverse settings preferred.

    Finalists will be required to provide three current, original letters of recommendation to the Search Committee Chair at the address above.  The letters should be less than one year old and should bear the writer’s actual signature. 

    Prior to issuing a letter of appointment, official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution by the Office of Academic Affairs, TAMU-SA, One University Way, San Antonio, Texas 78224. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective faculty member to have the transcripts translated and evaluated by an approved credential evaluator.
