Job Details
Southwestern Michigan College is seeking a Residence Life Desk Assistant.
The primary duties of the Front Desk Assistant are to provide receptionist services and the first–line of emergency response at the 24 hour Front Desk. This position requires a high-level of customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
Additionally, this position serves as a communication center during any emergency situations that may arise. The Desk Assistant reports directly to the Director of Residence Life and Residence Hall Managers and works collaboratively with the Resident Assistant staff.
Required QualificationsMinimum 2.00 Cumulative GPA
Must live in housing during semester(s) of employment
Must be able to work every other weekend
Must be able to work late night/early morning shifts
You must not be on any college probation (academic or social) during the period of employment
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours with the College
Priority Application Deadline is December 5, 2018.
Special Instructions to ApplicantsYou must be enrolled in at least 6 credits at the College with a 2.0 cumulative GPA. Contact hours will not be used to meet the 6 credit hour minimum.
OR
You must be enrolled or continuing your education with Ferris State University or Michigan State University on the campus of SMC and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and at least 1 credit hour with SMC.
