Position Description

The Department of Economics at Rice University in Houston, TX anticipates having two positions at the Assistant Professor level in any field in economics to begin at the start of the 2019 academic year, July 1, 2019.

Assistant professors are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and perform research in their specialized area. Therefore, candidates should show evidence of research excellence and a commitment to teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The minimum educational requirement is a Ph.D. in economics. Please note that the Ph.D. requirement must have been fulfilled by July 1, 2019.

Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vita, and a sample of research. Applicants must also arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted online. Applications must be received by December 1, 2018 to be guaranteed full consideration but will be accepted until the positions are filled.
