Job Details
Position provides support for the PhD Community Psychology Program.
Work with the Department Chair to connect with Grundy County Health Assets map and further research with Grundy county.
Although students are not required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.fafsa.gov, they must have either a valid Social Security Number for required IRS reporting or a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).
Must be enrolled at NLU full-time for classes needed toward your degree.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
PhD Community Psychology student with mental health background.
Important Note: Students are only eligible to receive one NLU resource per academic year. The only exception to this policy is students who are awarded one of our institutional merit-based donor scholarships.
ResponsibilitiesThe candidate for the Graduate Assistant (GA) must possess the required abilities: strong existing computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point); attention to detail; ability maintain confidentiality and make progress without direct supervision; professional demeanor; strong spoken and written communication skills; strong organizational skills; articulate and tactful communication skills; comfortable speaking to groups of people.
The Graduate Assistant will support the PhD Community Psychology Department. The candidate’s essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist with Research/Grant tasks
Prepare and organize grant application materials
Conduct reviews of the literature
Collect, organize, transcribe, enter and analyze data
Manage data collection projects by meeting deadlines
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity
Proofread scholarly works such as manuscripts, newsletter articles, etc.
Please Note: Per the Illinois Unemployment Insurance guidelines, any work positions that are paid and classified as student employment, such as Federal Work-Study, College Employment, Graduate Assistant and Harrison Fellow, etc., are not eligible for unemployment compensation, once the position has ended. Participation in the Student Employment program does not constitute bona fide National Louis University employment status. Therefore, when you are no longer participating in the student employment program, you would not be eligible to request or receive unemployment compensation.
