Salary range of $10.46 - $15.32 for Title V Tutors, Lab Assistants, and Supplemental Instructors will be based upon credit hours completed, cumulative GPA, and tutoring/teaching experience.

Job Summary/Basic Function: :

Tutor students in various levels of Mathematics. Also, provide academic computing support needs for students.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Tutor students on an individual basis or within groups in various fields of Mathematics.
  • Assist in filing, administering, and maintaining records for testing of students in both credit and Developmental Mathematics for the Testing Center in the Math Lab.
  • Maintain current knowledge of updates in math software and hardware in the Math Labs.
  • Provide assistance to students in using math software.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of student usage hours (students’ login) for the Math Labs.
  • Assist in checking out calculators and textbooks to students and/or faculty.
  • Answer desk phone and take messages for Math Lab Coordinator or other faculty.
  • Work a rotating weekend (Saturdays) schedule.
  • Assist in mentoring new tutors.

Additional duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position. Scheduled hours are not to exceed 19.5 hours a week. This is a security sensitive position.

Minimum Qualifications: :

  • Must be majoring in Mathematics or Engineering
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in Mathematic courses

Preferred Qualifications: :

  • Prior tutoring experience
