Social Work Faculty

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Division of Behavioral Sciences at Indiana Wesleyan University seeks applications for a Social Work Faculty position on the residential Marion, Indiana campus. The Division of Behavioral Sciences is home to five majors: social work, psychology, addictions counseling, criminal justice, and pre-art therapy, as well as a minor in sociology. We have 16 full-time faculty members and approximately 350 majors. The social work program has been accredited by the Council on Social Work Education for more than 25 years.

The successful candidate will combine teaching with scholarly endeavors. Applicants should show evidence of personal faith in Jesus Christ, comfort with the Wesleyan-Arminian theology, and commitment to liberal learning and the integration of Christian faith and learning. Applicants with diverse ethnic, racial, and gender perspectives are especially encouraged to apply.

Start date will be Fall 2019.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

A master’s degree in social work and an earned doctorate, preferably in social work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching courses within the social work program, as well as advising and mentoring students, assisting in the development of a master’s program, and serving on assigned university committees. Faculty research and participation professional organizations is expected, and supported by the division and university.

QUALIFICATIONS:

According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years post-MSW practice experience

At least one year of teaching experience, preferred
