Job Description:


GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:


Provide instruction and assessment for (EMS 101) Emergency Medical Technician: EMT an EMT-Basic course beginning in the Spring 2019 Quick Term II (March 18 - May 2, 2019). Supports EMS Program Coordinator in maintaining appropriate accrediting and licensing criteria.


EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:


  1. Develop course syllabus to meet program learning outcomes.
  2. Develop lesson plans and deliver class instruction.
  3. Administer, coordinate, score, and record both written and practical exams to meet college, accreditor, and licensor requirements.
  4. Record and maintain course level student performance and attendance data as per college, accreditor, and licensor requirements.
  5. Coordinate lab sessions and content to be covered with EMS Lab Instructors.


Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. Certification as an Instructor Coordinator by the Massachusetts Office of Emergency Medical Services.
  2. Demonstrated teaching experience in EMS-Basic course content at either the college level or at the professional/industry instructional level.
  3. Demonstrated two years' experience in the delivery of pre-hospital emergency care at the appropriate level.
  4. Current working knowledge and experience with the Massachusetts Statewide Treatment Protocols, Massachusetts Emergency Medical Services system and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians procedures.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  1. Experience using evidence based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning.
  2. Teaching experience using on-line learning systems to support and improve instruction.
  3. Appreciation for and commitment to working in a global, multicultural academic setting.


Additional Information:


COMPENSATION: Anticipated starting salary - Step I DCE pay scale. $5330.00 per semester. Part-time, non-benefited, MCCC Unit position.
