The Department of Curriculum, Leadership, & Technology invites applicants for an academic tenure-track faculty position in Instructional Technology.

We offer programs at the specialist and master’s levels in Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction at the doctoral level, Leadership at the doctoral, specialist, and master’s levels, and Higher Education at the master’s level. We also offer a variety of programs that lead to Georgia educator certification, Library Media concentrations, and an endorsement and certificate in online teaching for both P-12 and non P-12 professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
•Teach master’s and specialist courses in instructional technology, as well as graduate-level courses in one of the following content areas: leadership, curriculum and instruction, or research methods, in a variety of modalities (on campus, off campus, and/or online).
•Lead graduate student research; serve as chair, researcher, and/or committee member on dissertations.
•Advise graduate students regarding course selection and program completion.
•Engage in scholarly activities including publications, presentations, and grant writing.
•Provide service to the department, university, and to the public schools in the region.
•Contribute to program coordination and assessment as needed.

Required Qualifications

Earned doctorate in Instructional Technology; or, a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction, Leadership, Educational Psychology or closely related field.

Ability to teach media production courses using industry standard tools (e.g., image editing, video production).

Ability to assist students in designing and carrying out dissertation research using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods designs.

Experience in teaching in a higher education setting.

Experiences with and/or record of research productivity or other scholarly activity.

Ability to teach and develop online courses and infuse technology in the delivery of instruction.

Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarship.

Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience serving on doctoral dissertation committees.

Certification for Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, or other multimedia tools.

Position Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time, fully benefited (30+ hours) Standard Hours 40 Compliance Requirements

Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.

Position Requires a Criminal Background Check.

Position May Require Credit Check (if using P-Card, working with Cash, etc.).
