POSITION: A probationary tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor is available in the Department of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at the Marshfield Site, located at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. The department seeks a dynamic candidate with expertise in medical-surgical or maternal-child nursing who is committed to teaching excellence and to maintaining an active program of scholarship. This is a nine-month appointment with possibilities for summer appointments. Faculty teach in the CCNE accredited and State Board of Nursing approved BSN, BSN Completion, MSN, and DNP programs. Interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship opportunities are readily available and supported by the university. Engaged teams of students and faculty conduct research through the university student-faculty collaborative research grants program. Collaborative community exchanges, cultural immersion programs and global awareness initiatives are well-established at the university and new, innovative partnerships are supported through the university strategic plan and community agencies. Faculty and staff at the University foster student-centered learning, leadership skill development, and a strong shared governance model. There are excellent opportunities for research, leadership, clinical and professional development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate will present evidence of the following: PhD in nursing; PhD in a related field with a Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program; or a DNP from an accredited nursing program; candidates near completion of the doctoral degree may be considered, contingent on completion of the doctoral degree prior to the start of contract; current RN licensure in the U.S. and eligibility for RN licensure in Wisconsin; WI RN license required by start of contract; and demonstrated experience and/or commitment to the core values of equity, diversity and inclusivity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate programs; evidence of scholarly and/or research dissemination; appropriate practice experience; demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

DUTIES: The faculty role includes traditional classroom, clinical and/or online teaching/learning as well as other innovations in inter-professional education, cross-disciplinary initiatives, community collaborations, and distance education processes; other faculty duties include performing research/scholarly activities, engaging in service, advising, and participating in university faculty governance through service on department, college, and university committees.

DEPARTMENT: The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provides undergraduate and graduate programs for Nursing. Building on a foundation of excellence, the College prepares liberally educated individuals for professional practice. The College promotes creative educational experiences, scholarship, and service to our communities to enhance the personal and professional growth of students and faculty and promote life-long learning. The College is comprised of the Department of Nursing with the main campus in Eau Claire and a distance education site at the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wisconsin. UW-Eau Claire is the only public university in northwestern and north-central Wisconsin that offers a traditional baccalaureate nursing degree. The Department, which serves over 900 students, is comprised of 55 faculty and instructional academic staff, in addition to two clinical agency coordinators and five full time administrative support staff.
