Receptionist
Metropolitan College of New York, a non-profit, regionally accredited college offering associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, with campuses in Manhattan and in the Bronx,
seeks an energetic, courteous, customer service oriented professional for the position of Receptionist at its Bronx Campus. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Bronx Campus and College-wide Career Development , the Receptionist is responsible for the operations of the front desk. The Receptionist answers the campus’ switchboard in a timely and courteous manner, provides general information about the College to incoming callers and visitors, obtains essential demographic data from prospective students, schedules prospective student campus visits in coordination with Admissions Counselors, and provides general administrative duties. The Receptionist also provides supervision of work-study/interns, assists with event preparations, maintains a safe and professional reception area, and coordinates with other staff to ensure that the reception area has coverage during core business hours. Minimum Requirements: Associates degree plus 2 years of professional experience as a receptionist performing office related administrative tasks. Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with students, faculty, staff and the public. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Microsoft Office proficiency, and data entry experience. Evening and weekend hours required.
