Job Description:

The Business Department seeks a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August, 2019. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate introduction accounting courses which may include Financial and Managerial. Advising students, and conducting course assessment will also be required. Involvement in college governance and committee work is expected. This is a teaching position. Published research is secondary to quality teaching. A typical teaching load for this position is 15 credit hours per semester.

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, or related area. Candidates with a CPA in at least one state will be preferred. Candidates who have fulfilled the 150 hour degree requirement, as well as the one-year experience requirement for licensure as a CPA, will be considered as long as they sit for the Uniform Examination within one year from the date of hire.

Excellent communication, computer, and organizational skills are required. Preference will be given to those candidates who also hold a doctorate degree in Accounting, Management, Finance, or a related area.

The ideal candidate will have experience with advising undergraduate students and program accreditation and assessment. High value is placed on a team player who brings a variety of teaching interests and demonstrates knowledge of innovative learning technologies and program delivery, along with online teaching experience in a highly collaborative discussion-based asynchronous classroom. A desire to work at a small, residential college is essential.

The opportunity to serve in a department leadership capacity exists for qualified individuals with prior academic management experience.
