The Vice President reports to the President, and has responsibilities for the Division of Student Success Services including the following departments: Marketing & Enrollment Management, Records and Registration, On-Boarding/Admissions, Student Conduct and Testing Center, Financial Aid, and Career and Academic Advising. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, collaborates and networks internally across departments and externally with other colleges, and governance bodies, including the NC Community College System Office. Provides leadership for all student-facing activities, from the point of entry through advising and assignment of classes. As a creative problem solver, engages executive team to improve services provided to students, and increase system efficiencies. Provide strategic insight and thought leadership to problems and new opportunities to assure innovative, current and relevant solutions are identified, vetted, and implemented.

Staff Required Education/Experience:

Master’s degree in field related to area of assignment, and ten (10) or more years progressive responsibility in area of assignment, including at least five (5) years of management experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

2.Provide oversight and direction to student success services departments including records and registration, career and academic advising, financial aid, student conduct and testing center, and on-boarding/admissions.

3.Engage senior leaders to evaluate, streamline, automate, and enhance the student experience, from the prospective student to the returning student perspectives; leverage partnerships with Information Technology and/or vendors for automation support, depending on approach, budget, and desired outcomes

4.In support of the President, engage constituencies such as community leaders (e.g. Chamber Board) Cabinet members, educational leaders within and outside the college to collaborate and deliver various strategies that positively affect the college’s programs and services.

5.Act as the President’s backup, if needed, when the president is away, performing the duties as required and reporting to the president on activities occurring while absent.

At Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, Continuing Education programs support the philosophy that learning is a lifelong activity. This division offers classes and short courses for professional development and community service courses of general interest at convenient times and locations.

Business and Industry Services' staff provide customized support for the community through the Small Business Center, New and Expanding Industry Training and Focused Industrial Training. The Small Business Center is designed to assist small business start-ups and to help existing businesses grow. The college's New and Expanding Industry Training office has earned national recognition for cooperative training efforts with area industries. Focused Industrial Training designs innovative educational programs for the service region's manufacturing sector.

An important function of the college is to provide educational programs on the pre-college level. Literacy Services offer adults the opportunity for meaningful social and occupational growth through Adult Basic Education (ABE), Human Resources Development (HRD), and the High School Equivalency Program (GED).
