Description:

The Fine Arts Department at Pratt Institute invites applications for a full-time tenure-track
assistant/associate level position in Painting to commence Fall 2019. We seek applicants whose work
actively explores an expanded practice of painting, and/or contemporary issues.


The successful candidate will teach at both graduate and undergraduate levels and be expected to play
an active role in the life of the Institute and provide service to the Department. The ability to teach
across Fine Arts areas is a plus. The successful candidate will also be expected to act as an Area
Coordinator and work alongside colleagues to strengthen the Department.


Fine Arts undergraduate areas of emphasis are Painting, Drawing, Sculpture & Integrated Practices,
Printmaking and Jewelry. In addition, Fine Arts offers a minor in Ceramics. Located 1.5 miles from the
Brooklyn campus in the Pfizer Building on Flushing Avenue, the Fine Arts interdisciplinary graduate
program has areas of emphasis in Painting/Drawing, Sculpture, Integrated Practices, and Printmaking.

Qualifications:

MFA or equivalent
3+ years of teaching experience
Strong record of professional accomplishment
Strong understanding of historical and contemporary issues
Demonstrated collaborative leadership abilities
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to work well with diverse populations


SALARY and RANK are commensurate with qualifications and experience.
