The Department of Interior Design at Marymount University, located in the Washington DC metro area, invites applications for a Continuing Instructor position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Interior Design. The Continuing Instructor will be required to teach four (4) courses in the Fall 2019 semester and four (4) courses in the Spring 2020 semester, along with responsibilities to the department and the school as determined by the dean and department chair at the time of hiring. Instructors are expected to be engaged members of their departments and their schools. The position may be extended for the next academic year.

•Teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses involving some evening courses
•Develop curriculum with interior design faculty
•Ensure the program is in compliance with CIDA accreditation standards

Minimum Qualifications

•A Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
•Evidence of teaching excellence and/or professional practice
•Must be proficient in the English language (i.e. Able to read, write, speak and listen).

Preferred Qualifications

•NCIDQ and/or NCARB certification
•LEED certification
•Demonstrated ability to teach hand and digital graphic communication skills;
•Ability to use industry technologies such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Creative Suites, and digital fabrication.
