Position Qualifications - Responsibilities:

The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education invites applications for a limited term, full-time position in Elementary Science Education with a starting date in August 2018 and January 2019.

This is up to a one-year appointment.

Primary responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate science methods courses.

Required Education - Experience - Skills (Minimum Qualifications):

Qualified applicants must have earned at least a Master’s degree, or its foreign equivalent, in curriculum and instruction, science education, or a related field with at least 18 hours of relevant graduate semester hours science education. As well, the qualified applicant must have at least two years experience as a P-12 classroom teacher.

Ideal candidates will have experience as a K-5 classroom teacher, and will have university teaching experience. Please address your teaching experience and effectiveness in your cover letter and in your other application materials.

As one of the larger departments at KSU, the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education has more than 80 full-time and part-time faculty members. The department serves over 1,500 Elementary and Early Childhood Education undergraduate majors and over 100 graduate majors. It offers programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, specialist, and doctoral levels. Its M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education is now a fully online program. Certification for pre-kindergarten to grade five is embedded in the undergraduate program.

During the transition from 2005-2009, KSU teams have won six Atlantic Sun Conference tournaments in five sports, including men’s indoor and outdoor track, women’s soccer, softball and cross-country.
