Job Description Summary

Husson University’s College of Science and Humanities invites applications for a full-time assistant professor position in Exercise Science to begin in fall 2019.
This Exercise Science position will complement existing programmatic expertise among faculty in the College of Science and Humanities, which also offers undergraduate degrees in Biology, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, and Health Sciences. The position is responsible for teaching 24 credits per academic year.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities associated with this position include teaching exercise science and anatomy and physiology courses for undergraduate students in the major and advising as well as developing and directing undergraduate research in the applied areas of exercise science. The successful candidate will also fulfill faculty expectations for teaching, advising, service, and scholarship as outlined in university policies.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate should have an earned doctorate (ABD considered) in Exercise Science or a related area and a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidates should also have the ability and desire to develop a scholarly research program that actively involves undergraduate students.
Preferred qualifications: Previous higher education teaching experience in the areas of exercise physiology, motor behavior, nutrition, test and measures, exercise prescription; external certification such as ACSM or CSCS; and experience with accreditation
