Description:The English discipline at Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC) seeks positions of Instructor or open-rank professor (Assistant, Associate, or Full), with preference given for experience in and enthusiasm for the teaching of developmental and/or first-year writing, beginning August 1, 2019.

Successful candidates join a diverse cadre of energetic colleagues working to build an innovative English major with concentrations in Language and Literature, Writing and Rhetoric, Teacher Certification, and Interdisciplinary Studies. Successful candidates will be expected to teach first-year composition, general education courses, and upper division courses as available. Applicants should demonstrate innovative approaches to teaching, superior service to the institution, and established research credentials. Commitment to building a new college is also essential. In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive 3 or 5 year renewable appointments or one year traditional appointments may also be approved.   • Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) for Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor
  • Assistant Professor Faculty position should hold a Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) specializing in Rhetoric and Composition, Professional Writing, or closely-related field before or within the semester of the start date.
  • Must have a minimum of 18 English graduate credit hours.
