Description:GGC invites applicants for a full-time faculty position at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor starting August 1, 2019. We seek a specialist whose focus is the transnational history of North America, broadly construed to include the ability to teach courses in at least one of the following areas: greater Mexico and the Spanish borderlands, Canada, the Caribbean, the American immigrant experience, the history of Latinx in the US, or a closely related field. Additionally, all successful candidates will be expected to teach both halves of the general-education US history sequence, as well as survey courses in world history. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in scholarly activities, extensive student engagement and to contribute in the area of service to the college and community. Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty. In accordance with Board of Regents Policy governing GGC faculty, successful applicants will be eligible to receive five- or three-year renewable appointments.
