The Student Assistant is housed in the Office of the Dean of the School of Science and Technology and reports to the discipline Lab Supervisor and lab course instructor. This individual will perform the duties of: a student laboratory assistant in the Exercise Science lab.

The lab assistant should have a basic understanding of the physiologic adaptations the body makes when exercising. He/she will be helping to administer physiologic testing during lab classes along with helping to maintain the lab, which will include: prepping for, setting-up, taking down, and cleaning up the lab, as well as taking inventory and helping to maintain the lab equipment.

Hourly Rate: $8.25/hour

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Must be enrolled a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.Preferred Qualifications: Completion of General Education Areas A, B, and D, with outstanding performance in prerequisite math, information technology and/or laboratory science courses. Correspondingly, a desire to either be majoring in a medical or Exercise Science related field is preferred.Physical Requirements: Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Job takes place in the presence of bio-hazardous waste, chemicals and flammable liquids.
