Description:The Office of Internationalization (IZN) provides leadership in comprehensive internationalization. Its programs are continuously evolving and are strategically designed to be interdisciplinary in nature to support the global learning objectives of Georgia Gwinnett College, which aims to enable students to gain foreign language proficiency, global competence, leadership skills and a background in undergraduate research. IZN manages all aspects of study abroad, international exchange agreements, international student recruitment & support services and other international program innovations.

Duties include:

Assisting with office student intake, campus events, student tours, international program reports, file maintenance, database management, mailing correspondence, faxing and copying documents and assisting office professional staff with special projects as needed.

Job Summary/Basic Function: Student is awarded on a per semester basis and the length of employment is determined by the discretion of the hiring manager. The rate of pay is $8.25/hour up to the Federal Work-Study award.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Must have a Federal Work-Study award and be in good academic standing; must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and be able to handle confidential information. Student will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, advanced computer skills and the use of office equipment (fax machine, copier, and printer). Proficiency in a foreign language and interest in international programs are a plus.

Physical Requirements

Position may require local travel. Ability to lift and carry files and materials. Ability to move from one office to another office on campus. Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to interact with people in person, on the phone and in writing. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
