Job Description:

SUMMARY

• Assists dance Instructors with the assigned Creative Arts Academy Dance course(s).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Effectively performs, demonstrates and teaches professional dance techniques to dance program students
• Administers dance evaluations and assists with the assessment of student performances
• Tracks dance student attendance
• Remains in contact with students and parents regarding program scheduling
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

• Minimum of one semester enrolled in the College’s intermediate/advanced Creative Arts Academy Dance Program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

• Possess basic knowledge of fundamental professional dance concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
• Ability to perform all necessary physical activities associated with the requirements of the Creative Arts Academy Dance program
• Possess sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
• Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive relationships
• Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

• The work is performed in a professional dance studio environment;
• The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
• Typically, the employee will be actively demonstrating dance instruction and techniques;
• Work may also require travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
