Job Description:
SUMMARY
- Assists dance Instructors with the assigned Creative Arts Academy Dance course(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively performs, demonstrates and teaches professional dance techniques to dance program students
- Administers dance evaluations and assists with the assessment of student performances
- Tracks dance student attendance
- Remains in contact with students and parents regarding program scheduling
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Minimum of one semester enrolled in the College’s intermediate/advanced Creative Arts Academy Dance Program
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Possess basic knowledge of fundamental professional dance concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to apply in varied situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
- Ability to perform all necessary physical activities associated with the requirements of the Creative Arts Academy Dance program
- Possess sound verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
- Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive relationships
- Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population

- The work is performed in a professional dance studio environment;
- The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated;
- Typically, the employee will be actively demonstrating dance instruction and techniques;
- Work may also require travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
